"Staff and service has been great. Beautiful hotel the pools were amazing. We stayed in the original hotel. Fussy people wouldn’t like it but I thought it has the old charm."

"We recently found a $200 Peninsula Hot Springs gift voucher that had been misplaced during a house move. I reached out to explain the situation and ask — very reasonably — if there was any possibility of reissuing or extending it, given that the business had already received the money and we had never used the service. The reply I received was cold and dismissive, simply quoting policy and reminding me that they send “multiple reminders to the purchaser.” We didn’t even purchase the voucher ourselves, so we never received any of those emails. Despite explaining this, there was no empathy, no flexibility, and no gesture of goodwill whatsoever — just a robotic response ending with, “we regret any inconvenience caused.” For a company that promotes wellness, relaxation, and human connection, their approach to customers is surprisingly rigid and impersonal. Good businesses take care of people and show understanding, especially when the cost to them is minimal compared to the disappointment caused to their customers. It’s hard to believe that such a large, well-known company couldn’t offer any form of solution or compassion for a $200 voucher that’s already been paid for. We’re left with nothing, while they’ve kept the money. I’ll be choosing to support businesses that genuinely care about their customers — not ones that hide behind fine print and lack basic empathy. Very poor experience and not what I’d expect from a brand like Peninsula Hot Springs."

"Berry Springs is closed to swimming for the rest of the rainy season. According to the Ranger it closed about 2 weeks ago due to increased river flows and water levels that allow the Freshwater Crocs to move into the area and create high bacteria conditions due to the bat colonies upstream. The walkways to the water are fenced off about 20m back so you can only get a peak of the water"

"After a three-hour drive from Melbourne, we were hoping for a relaxing stay… instead, Deep Blue Hotel delivered one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had in years. We checked into Room 209, only to open the door and find an incredibly small, dated room that looked like it hadn’t been touched since the 1970s. The furnishings were damaged, the layout was cramped, and the overall feel was far below what you’d expect for the price. We turned around and left the room immediately. Hoping to salvage the stay, we asked for an upgrade and were willing to pay whatever it took just to not sleep in that room. We were quoted a $40 charge for a King Suite upgrade on Level 4 (Room 413) — but when we walked in, it was the exact same outdated room, just two floors higher, now with a “view” directly into the hotel in front. No improvement. No sense of value. For a hotel called “Deep Blue,” don’t be misled — there is nothing remotely ‘blue’ or scenic about the experience. The pool is cold, and there is no spa or sauna available unless you pay exorbitant prices to access the separate Hot Springs area. For a supposed wellness-style hotel, this is incredibly misleading. Overall, the hotel feels overpriced, dated, tired, and in desperate need of a full refurbishment. We left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and honestly stunned that this is marketed as a premium stay. Guest parking is limited- good luck finding a car park due to the Hot Springs guests. Would not recommend."
