KERR COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — State and local officials are calling out federal forecasters amid deadly flooding in the Texas Hill Country over the extended Fourth of July weekend.
The death toll has risen to 24 after heavy rain pounded Kerr County, Texas, early Friday, leading to deadly and "catastrophic" flooding, the sheriff said.
As of Thursday, at least 135 people were confirmed to have died in the catastrophic deluge. A majority were in Kerr County, a part of the Texas Hill Country northwest of San Antonio.
