The New York Mets are set to retire the No. 5 number of David Wright against the Cincinnati Reds on July 19 at Citi Field. The team's former captain remains a fan favorite to this day. Now "Captain America" will be enshrined forever as no one will wear his number again.

Kicking off Wright’s big weekend at Citi Field, where the captain’s No. 5 will be retired and he’ll be inducted into the Mets’ Hall of Fame, Collins spoke to reporters on Friday. There, he revealed why he named Wright captain ahead of the 2013 season.
