A Detroit father is dead and his son injured after a drive-by shooting Saturday night, with another shooting incident occurring on the same street just days later.

Officials told FOX 2 that they responded to the area of Bramell and Puritan at 2 a.m. on Sunday where they say someone unloaded a gun into a home, hitting an 11-year-old boy several times inside.

After a two-week search, Detroit police arrested a 19-year-old suspected of shooting two people near the city’s fireworks show on June 23.

The investigation was over the death of Deryl Timothy Banks, 35, of Romulus, after a shooting Wednesday at Ichiban Restaurant on Washtenaw Avenue in Pittsfield Township. Banks drove himself to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Police said he later died as a result of his injuries.

A Detroit man has been charged in connection with a shooting with an unsecured handgun that wounded his 18-year-old brother this week, officials said. Geris Edward Gordon, 26, was arraigned Wednesday in 36th District Court in Detroit, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said.

The Garden City man accused in a road rage-related shooting in Flushing last fall pleaded guilty to lesser charges Thursday in local circuit court. WJRT-TV reported Paul Andrew Peake, 47, was alleged to be involved in a road rage incident that escalated into a shooting in late September 2024 in the 100 block of Main Street downtown.

Police in Taylor, Michigan, are investigating a shooting that happened Saturday night. Officials said the incident happened around 9 p.m., and officers "responded quickly to the scene." As of Sunday afternoon, police haven't released any other details.

DETROIT – At least seven windows at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center were damaged early Friday. No injuries were reported. In addition to courtrooms, the building serves as the headquarters of the Detroit City Government and also houses officers for the Wayne County Government.
