Chicago police late Sunday were investigating a shooting that left a man dead and two other people wounded in the South Side's Chatham neighborhood. The shooting happened Saturday just before midnight at an unofficial high school alumni gathering in a shopping center parking lot in the 100 block of West 87th Street.

Two people were wounded and another was killed while attending a massive gathering in a Chatham parking lot, police said.

Ole Miss announced the death of freshman Corey Adams on social media on July 20. According to a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Adams, 18, was a homicide victim.
