It wasn’t long ago that Supergirl’s cinematic future felt uncertain. After Sasha Calle’s appearance in The Flash (2023), there were questions about whether DC Studios would keep her version of the character around or move in a new direction.

Superman has finally hit theaters around the world, and it’s already breaking records. This film is important not just because it’s the first live-action movie in James Gunn’s new DC Universe, but also because it introduced many new heroes and villains.

In the film’s final scene, Superman returns to the Fortress of Solitude, where his Superman Robot assistants, trashed during the earlier break-in by the Engineer and Ultraman, have been rebuilt. They are interrupted by a large crashing sound that turns out to be none other than Superman’s cousin - Supergirl (Milly Alcock)!

The question now is if DC Studios can keep the momentum going with movies about Supergirl and Clayface.
