The second WNBA game held in Boston was another huge success, sparking talk of when the city will get its own team — or will they get a relocated Sun franchise instead?

The Connecticut Sun have had a rather up-and-down week as a franchise. On Tuesday they sold out TD Garden for the second time as they hosted Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. Although they lost the contest, the Sun drew over 19,000 fans to the arena and local bars were jam-packed with watch parties.

However, second-year forward Angel Reese is having another dominant campaign, as she earned her second straight All-Star nod this season. Reese is averaging a league-best 12.6 rebounds per game, as well as a career high 14.0 points and 3.8 assists per contest.

On Tuesday, WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert spoke with Connecticut reporters to address the "elephant in the room" and what she’s looking for as the league prepares to expand to 18 teams come 2030.

Connecticut Sun rookie guard Saniya Rivers said that the Boston market would be an appealing spot for the WNBA franchise if they relocated.

What's clear is that Providence would face stiff competition from Boston, where the Connecticut Sun already have an established audience.

Sophie Cunningham has not been shy this season. Whether it was hard foul late in the game against the Sun earlier this season or speaking about her thoughts on the WNBA expansion cities, Cunningham isn't afraid to speak her mind. That remained true when she quote tweeted a video of her being elbowed in the head in Tuesday's game against the Sun.
