Thirty-nine organizations have united to aid long-term recovery efforts for communities impacted by the July flooding

The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country is expected to announce an additional round of disaster relief donations on Tuesday.

Lawmakers serving on special committees investigating deadly floods blasted a river authority for failing to build a flood warning system on the Guadalupe River.

"Texas is grateful for the outpouring of support," the governor said on Tuesday, as recovery efforts continue.

Farmers and ranchers have lost a devastating amount of cotton and hay acreage. While the severity of the damage is still being assessed, Texas farmers have disaster aid available to help them recover from the loss.

Democrats have questioned the effectiveness of the flash flood warning the weather service sent out on July 4, after floodwaters had already overwhelmed many areas in Kerr County.

Texas lawmakers’ inaction on flood prevention often hits rural and economically disadvantaged communities the hardest, experts said.
