Matt Vierling hit a tiebreaking single with two outs in the eighth inning and the Detroit Tigers snapped a season-worst six-game losing streak by beating the Texas Rangers 2-1 on Sunday night.

After giving up the lead on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh, Matt Vierling delivered a two-out, two-strike RBI single in the top of the eighth, sending the Tigers to a skid-busting 2-1 win.
