President Trump is applying pressure on Moscow by restoring weapons pipelines to Ukraine and imposing tariffs on Russia's trading partners, in an effort to weaken Russia's war economy and prevent further Russian gains in Ukraine.

The European Union approved a new series of sanctions against Russia on Friday in response to its ongoing war in Ukraine.

President Trump also announced that the US would be sending weapons to Ukraine which NATO allies - and not America - would pay for.
