By officially signing second-round draft pick Alfred Collins, the 49ers provided a framework for the rest of the NFL to negotiate their rookie contracts.

Following weeks of negotiations, Alfred Collins has signed his first NFL contract with the San Francisco 49ers. On Wednesday, Collins and the 49ers agreed on a four-year deal worth $10.3 million. It includes $9 million guaranteed. Now, the former Longhorn can focus on preparing for the regular season with his future secured.
