Holloway defeated Dustin Poirier in a unanimous decision to retain the UFC BMF Championship in UFC 318 at the Smoothie King Center. The win for Holloway is the first in three fights against Poirier, who beat him in 2012 and 2019.

Max Holloway defended his “BMF” belt by defeating Dustin Poirier atop the UFC 318 pay-per-view (PPV) event last weekend in New Orleans.

"I don’t have the BMF, but I got the BDE. … Where the BMF belt was gonna go, I got this bad boy. "This is a one of one right here: Best Dad Ever belt.”
