A petition has launched asking Birmingham Airport to change its name to honour Ozzy Osbourne following the Black Sabbath singer's death. Now the airport has responded and confirmed its intentions to celebrate the star.
According to a report by Billboard, Dan Hudson, the A Gay And A Nongay podcaster, radio host, BBC TV doc Sashay To Hell host, and stand-up comedian, launched the much-talked-about petition titled "RIP Ozzy Osbourne — petitions honour 'The Prince of Darkness" to rename the Birmingham Airport to Ozzy Osbourne International.
Tony Iommi, Black Sabbath guitarist and co-founder, told UK broadcaster ITV that Osbourne was “frustrated” during the band’s farewell concert on July 5. The heavy metal icon died less than three weeks later, on July 22, at age 76.
The rock legend was the vocalist of Black Sabbath and died in his hometown of Birmingham, England Tuesday morning.
Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath's final performance is coming to theaters. The concert film will showcase "the raw power and emotional weight of Ozzy’s final bow in his hometown of Birmingham," according to a statement.
