We saw Andy Warhol’s BMW M1 Art Car at the 2025 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, where BMW brought it out as part of the Art Car anniversary display. This is BMW Art Car No. 4 from 1979, which was based on a BMW M1 Group 4 race car. Aiming to visually capture speed with bold, blurred brushwork, Warhol painted the car himself by applying more than 13 pounds of paint in approximately 28 minutes.
