In Remembrance Bridlington paid tribute today (15 August) to mark the 18th anniversary of VJ Day. Local veterans, standard bearers, and the Mayor of Bridlington, along with members of the public took part in a short service at the war memorial in the town centre. Leading the service was reverend Neil Bowler along with Mark Pennington who gave an opening speech. Brian Maxwell, chairman of the Bridlington branch of the British Legion also made several readings in the service. A two minute silence
